The mission of the New York State Bureau of Veterans Education is to inspect, approve, and supervise programs offered by qualified educational institutions, training establishments, and tests for licensing and certification for veterans, eligible persons, or reservists, under the standards and provisions of Title 38, U.S

New York State offers reimbursements of up to $2,000 to a Veterans Service Organization tasked by a county’s government with providing interment services for an indigent Veteran. Reimbursements are issued pursuant to Chapter 29 of the Laws of 2016. The Indigent Burial Reimbursement application is available here:

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is committed to addressing consumer financial challenges affecting servicemembers, veterans, and their families. We do that through financial education, monitoring of complaints submitted by consumers to the CFPB, and coordinating with other Federal and state agencies

On January 20, 2014 the Executive Law was amended to add Chapter 17-A, also known as the Veterans Employment Act.

If you are a qualified U.S. military veteran, who was honorably discharged, and you have a NYS driver license, learner permit or non-driver photo ID card, you can have the word "Veteran" printed on the upper left hand of your photo document.
