The New York State Division of Veterans' Affairs advocates on your behalf to ensure you receive all the benefits and services you are entitled to.

Veterans with service-related disability of 40 percent or more (annual proof required from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs) can get reduced fee hunting and fishing licenses and preference for Deer Management Permits from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

While many Veterans qualify for free healthcare services based on a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) compensable service-connected condition or other qualifying factor, most Veterans are asked to complete an annual financial assessment to determine if they qualify for free services.
